"Blue Heron" 5 x 7 Watercolor $45 Always stately and watchful, the Great Blue Heron is one of our favorite birds. In this painting, I did a loose background in tropical colors, leaving some of the white of the paper to add sparkle.
"Autumn Gourds" 8 x 8 Acrylic on canvas $45 It is the time of year when you see all kinds of interesting gourds and pumpkins. The white ones are interesting and when I saw these with orange stripes against the white, I had to paint some! This painting is nice to sit on an easel and help welcome Autumn into your home! "Old Irish House" 8 x 10 Acrylic on canvas, framed $185 Painted from photos and sketches from Norther Ireland, the courtyard around this old Manor house was so relaxing and full of plants and flowers. My daughter and I had a fun day of painting here, complete with a healthy lunch from the owners' gardens.
"Autumn Sunflowers" 16 x 20 acrylic on canvas $250 In the Fall I always think of sunflowers, gourds, blackbirds and pumpkins! The colors of those things always inspire me. Painting is my passion and I try to paint as much as possible everyday. I love gardening and decorating my home, but when it is hot like it is here in summer, I find my studio is where I want to be! I have also been writing a book about my experiences in the antique shop business. Writing a book is a lot of hard work, what with editing and trying to get one's ideas down in a concise and interesting manner, not to mention the frustrations of using the computer!! I've almost completed it, though. I love so many creative things, including quilting! There just is not enough hours in the day.
