Still working on the Sea Grape Painting....

I am still working on the Sea Grape Leaves

painting. I have had so many other things to do besides paint that it is slow going! There are spring chores to do, income tax prep to get out, cleaning, writing cards, antiquing, just to name a few! But it is coming along, so keep looking and eventually it will be finished!!

A new painting started...Sea Grape Leaves

Sea Grape leaves are so beautiful with many colors and lovely veins and stems. A friend brought me some and I have started a painting of them. You can see some of the leaves in the upper left and the painting started below them. Keep watching....I should have it finished in a day or two. I am painting in watercolors.

"Pile of Peppers"

"Pile of Peppers"

It was fun painting the "waxy" looking peppers. Leaving the white of the paper in places accomplished this look.

"Pitcher of Sunflowers"

"Pitcher of Sunflowers"

12 x 16 watercolor

$150

I have finally finished the sunflower painting! It is bright and cheerful. The pitcher is an antique "Indian" design cobalt

pottery. I threw some coarse salt into the wet paint to get a textured effect. Please click on it for a detailed view. Most of the painting was done wet-into-wet, which gives some interesting play of colors. I also did some layering of washes.
