"Lilies and Brown Betty"

"Lilies and Brown Betty"

12 x 16 Watercolor

$175

I finished the still life with potted lilies and my little Brown Betty tea pot. By the time I got it painted, all the flowers had dropped off the lily and now I must plant it in the ground! I always enjoy doing crochet and lace, so it was fun getting the reflections in the tea pot. The painting looks more vibrant in real life...I may need a new camera! I took the photo outdoors, but still, the colors look more subdued here than in real life. Hope you like it and your comments are appreciated.

  1. Ahhh...it's lovely, Egretta. I like the composition, and the warm earthy colour of the teapot coupled with the brighter pinks and greens of the lillies. It's a very sweet and happy painting, and brightened up my otherwise dreary and somewhat stressful day. I also really like the lace on the table. Nice touch! Thanks for sharing this, Egretta. - June

  3. Dear Egretta - I do like it. Your little brown Betty really caught the reflections as well. The lilies make we homesick for summer...beautiful and thanks for sharing.
