"Still Life with Begonias"

"Still Life with Begonias"

9 x 12 acrylic on hardboard panel

$125

I painted this a little while back, but some of you may have missed it. I am so busy at the moment with other projects than painting, so have been only sketching in the sketch book for a few days when I get a moment to rest. That is why all artists need a personal assistant...to take care of things like re-arranging the studio, purchasing new materials, entering shows and mailing packages, etc. Well, one can dream, I guess!

This painting was fun to do...I sat up the still life in the studio and used some old pieces of granite ware that I love in it and the chenille bit the items are sitting on was challenging to paint.

I love how it turned out, though. Click on the painting to see details.

"Irish Garedn"

"Irish Garden"

8 1/2 x 11

$80

This rather quickly done, wet into wet, watercolor is of a lovely Irish Garden in Northern Ireland. Whenever I am there, I take numerous photos and by the time I get home, I've forgotten exactly which garden, etc. it was! Not always, but this one I am not sure of. I just remember how gorgeous the flowers were and the paths leading up to the cottage and manor house. Click on it to see details. My favorite part of this painting, however, is the sky!

"Old Florida Barn"

"Old Florida Barn"

11 x 14 watercolor

$150.

This old barn is located in the beautiful little 1800's town of McIntosh, Florida. Every year the town has a 1890's Festival and I love to go and wander all over town taking photos. Every old house there has an old barn in the yard and they are still there looking just like yesteryear! When the railroad left the town, progress just stopped and so everything is just as it was.
This painting was done wet into wet and I used siran wrap near the bottom to texture the ground and grass. Click on it to see details.

"Sunflowers II"

"Sunflowers II"

11 X 14 WATERCOLOR

$200

I think one of everyone's favorite flowers is the Sunflower. It is cheery and stately, attracts birds and goes right into Fall. I had fun painting this, letting the background develop with wet into wet washes. I tried to bring out the darker values so the flowers would really "pop". Hope you like it!

"Old School House Museum"

"Old School House Museum"

10 1/2 x 14 watercolor

$150

The old school house, turned into a museum. is probably the most historic building here and it is typical Florida "cracker" style. I chose to do this painting of just a part of the building because of the interesting shadows playing on the building and in the yard. Later I may do the whole building. I love historic structures! Click on the photo to see details. Thanks for looking.

"Kelli's Irish House"

"Kelli's Irish House"

10 1/2 x 14 1/2 watercolor

NFS

Ever since I saw my daughter Kelli had cut the tree in front of the house into a topiary, I have wanted to paint her house. It has such character and the topiary and all the flowers just add to that. I don't see how she did the pruning herself, as the house is two story and tall, so you can see that the tree is also tall. I think the painting was successful and hope you will click on it to see all the detail.
