"Nesting Egrets"

I just can't resist the egrets, especially when they are nesting. Their feathers are lovely then. I did a lot of detail in this painting, yet made the background very subdued, so the details of the nest and plumage would show well. This is one of those paintings that takes several days. Often I have two or three things going at once, not to mention a head full of ideas for the future! I finished a small oil painting yesterday, too, and will post it tomorrow.
