"The Shepherd"

"The Shepherd"

16 x 20 acrylic on canvas, framed

$450

The shepherd watches over his flock. This was fun to paint, all the interesting texture in the sheep, the old wood and the shepherd's clothes! I added the red scarf last to create movement and draw the eye to the sheep. It works! Hope you like this one.

Merry Christmas to all of you and hope you have a healthy, happy New Year. Thank you for looking at my blog, Egretta

"Koi Fish"

"Koi Fish"

16 x 20 oil on stretched canvas, framed

$350

This was fun to paint, making the transparent water to show the swimming fish! Even with the movement, it is a very relaxing and soothing painting to look at, just as watching fish in a tank can be.

"A Granny House"

"A Granny House"

9 x 12 acrylic on canvas

Do you ever see a house that reminds you of the one your grandmother used to live in? Well, this one did me...the white faded clapboard, the tin roofed porch and the tall brick chimney. Love the purple flowers, too!

Sure to evoke memories, this could be a special gift for Christmas and there is still time for me to mail it!

I enjoyed doing this plein air at Heathcote Botanical Garden. The painting is atmospheric and I love the cypress tree. However, the red blooms really pop, so thus the title.
